...Charges Them to Focus On The Development of Ifaki Ekiti
It was a glowing occasion yesterday as His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) John Adegbenro Falore (Ajigbade lll), the Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti has inaugurated the Members of Working Committee of Ifaki Youth Council (IYC) and the Legislative Arm of the most recognized Youth Association at his palace.
The inauguration had in attendance, Quarters’ High Chiefs and major Stakeholders. While admonishing the newly inaugurated EXCOS and Parliament Members, Olufaki emphasized on unity and teamship. He said success would be difficult to achieve if individual was striving to work or operate in isolation but however, maintained that what could bring instant and lasting achievements would be working together with combined efforts. He said it was a delight for him to witness the inauguration, saying the IYC remains his number one constituency, as he said he remained a Youth, despite the fact tradition has bestowed upon him the responsibilities of being the father of both old and young in the Community and further said the Youths occupied the majority of his thoughts.
According to the Monarch: “I’ve always spent quality time with the Youths before being crowned as the traditional ruler of the Community, Ifaki Ekiti. I’m a Youth, despite the responsibilities tradition has given to me as the father of all. It’s not possible for me to bypass or witch-hunt the Youth constituency because that’s where I belong. I’ll be ready to give my support to the Council as I would always be at your beck and call.”, the Monarch said.
While giving his inaugural speech, after the Oath of Office was administered by a Legal Officer, Comrade (Barrister) Durodola Tosin, the President of the Council, Comrade Dada Ayoola said he would ensure the Youths of the town were useful for themselves, and however promised to work with major stakeholders to give immediate attention to the ‘drugs abuses’ menace ravaging the certain coverage of Youths in the Community and he promised to unite his team Members and be in timely consultation with all Ifaki Sons and Daughters both home and in diaspora and enjoined all the inaugurated Members of Executive and Parliament to work earnestly towards the development of the town in all areas. “We’re resilient and set for success, having taken up the mantle of leadership and we’re focused to make the best use of it. This TEAM, shall join hands with other stakeholders on the mission to taking Ifaki to the highest pedestal and at the end, it’s my belief that IYC as a body shall become the cynosure of all eyes. Our readiness is total and our decision is to see Ifaki become a place where the lives of the entire Youths shall have a new twist and toast. We shall collaborate with the necessary security outfits to ensure that Ifaki is ripped of drugs abuses that could cut short the life-expectancy of an average Youth and the incessant security vices that have put Ifaki on the negative badge. We shall work with Olufaki-in-Council and if need be, with corporate bodies at all levels, to ensuring the Youths are useful to themselves and the community in general.”, Comrade Dada has said.
The National President of Ifaki Progressive Union (IPU), Alhaji Sule Bakare, who spoke via Google Meet App, encouraged both the Executive Members and Parliamentarians to see their new positions as opportunity to contribute to the development of Ifaki-Ekiti, saying history shall be kind to them if they give their best in course of their stints.
