General
- AfDB approval of USD110K to fund State Power Reform Plan
- Ekiti State is working with other states (BEDC states, SW states and in the nation) to ensure state, regional and national operstionalization of the new Electricity Act 2023
Generation:
- Ongoing talks with present IPP provider (Fenchurch Group) to double the present MW generation by end of 3rd quarter in 2024 to 5MW and above.
- Review of various exploratory IPP proposals for distributed (particular solar, mini-hydro) power supply in various parts of the state.
Transmission
- Work on Ikere Switching station, Ilupeju and Ijesa-Isu substations by TCN is continuing. Poles and lines puling will begin soon
2 . 33KV lines: Eruku-Iyemero-Itapaji and Iluomoba-Ikole almost complete, and new line to Aramoko-Ijero has recently been approved by the Governor.
Distribution
- State Regulatory Board ensuring that BEDC fulfills all its obligations (metering, energization, proper billing etc) to citizens
