The Ekiti State Police Command has issued a warning to residents regarding a planned attack on motorcyclists and passengers by suspected hoodlums, Ekiti News reports.

According to a statement from the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abutu Sunday, the command has received credible intelligence about the intention of armed hoodlums to target people, particularly at night.

Residents, especially motorcyclists, are advised to avoid riding at night in major towns across the state to reduce the risk of falling victim to these attacks.

The statement stated, “The State Police Command has received intelligence reports indicating that armed hoodlums have devised plans to attack motorcyclists and rob them of their motorcycles, money, and other valuables.”

It further warned that criminals may lure victims to isolated locations at odd hours under the guise of paying extra charges, then ambush and steal from them.

While the police assured the public of their commitment to ensuring maximum security, residents are urged to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to avoid becoming victims.

The PPRO also issued a stern warning to the criminal elements to cease their activities or face the consequences.
