Technical Advisor on Servicom to Ekiti State Governor, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae and his team have commenced a tour of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to sensitise them on the domestication of Servicom in the state.

Addressing the Chairman and members of the Board of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Akin-Fasae explained that Servicom has been charged to ensure that public officers serve the people right.

Other members of the Servicom team including, Senior Special Assistant (IGR), Hon. Yomi Oso and Media Attaché, Akin Ogunmola dwelled more on the reason for the courtesy visit and the vision and mission of the new department as well as areas of collaboration between the Commission and Servicom.

Receiving the Servicom team, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Samuel Abejide who has memɓers of the Board with him, commended Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the autonomy the third tier of government enjoys in the state among only three states granted such autonomy by their Governors in the 36 states of the federation.

Abejide and other Commissioners of the commission also praised Governor Oyebanji for the domestication of Servicom in the state as part of initiatives to make public service live up to its responsibility of efficient, effective and timely service delivery to the people.

The Commission enjoined the Servicom team to approach their onerous duty with tact and always carry along the Commission in all its engagements with the LGAs and the LCDAs.

Next, the Servicom team held a similar session with the Chairman and Directors of the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service at Mutual House where issues were raised on the need to harmonise some of the levies and taxes in the state with a view to preventing leakages and multiple taxation.

Areas pointed out by Servicom and which the EKIRS Chairman, Mr Olaniran Olatona said they are working on include, Land Use Charge /tenement rate, on and off licence, marriage registration, capital gain tax among others.
