Chief Samuel Adewumi Abejide, the Chairman, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission has extended Easter greetings to all staff members and the people of Ekiti State as they celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Ekiti News reports that this was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Information and Civic Orientation, Stanley A. Familoye, on Friday, in Ado-Ekiti.
Abejide urged the workers to take time to reflect on the significance of Easter and the renewal of hope and faith it brings.
The LGSC Chairman described the Christian holiday as a time to come together in unity to offer prayers to God, to end the reign of terror unleashed on Nigerians through wanton killings, kidnappings and sabotage by the enemies of of the nation who are unrelenting in their evil machinations against Nigeria’s greatness.
He acknowledged the hard work and dedication of staff members who have continued to discharge their duties with diligence and commitment, saying: “Your efforts and contributions are invaluable in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our local government service.
“I enjoin you all to continue to be dutiful at work to enable you contribute meaningfully to the shared prosperity agenda of the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.”
Abejide also lauded the governor for placing the welfare of the public servants on the front burner, most especially that of the local government workers, as demonstrated through the steady offset of salary arrears owed workers and pensioners, payment of pensions and gratuities as well as salaries and allowances of workers.
The Commission Chairman also expressed gratitude to the governor for making funds available for the Local Government Service Commission secretariat project, which is nearing completion.
He noted that Oyebanjo had demonstrated that he is workers-friendly through recent approval of elevation of eligible workers who were due for promotion in 2022 and 2023.
Abejide added: “To whom much is given, much is expected, as such, all hands must be on deck to ensure efficient service delivery to engender the much-desired growth at the grassroots for the prosperity of all.”
