Ekiti News reports that following the outcome of Ifaki Progressive Union Election, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) John Adegbenro Falore Ajigbade III, Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti has congratulated the newly elected Executive Members of IPU on their victory at the poll and therefore charged them to hit the ground running, by giving dire attention to complimenting impactful developments for the Community, Ifaki-Ekiti.

According to the Monarch, “It is on this note that I express my deepest appreciation to the electoral committee led by Chief Tayo Agbelese for conducting a free, fair and credible election that’d paved ways for the incoming regime. The online voting system, respectively introduced, would be the first of its kind and it’s a commendable feat achieved by the electoral Committee.

“The new Executive Council of the Ifaki Progressive Union (National government) must justify the essence of the confidence reposed in them as being expressed by the supports given by all Ifaki Indigenes both home and diaspora. However, a serious strive for instant development must be their watchwords. And for all and sundry, proper growth and betterment of Ifaki-Ekiti should be the sacrosanct focus.”

Speaking further, Oba Adegbenro enjoined Ifaki Citizens to accord in unity of purpose and progress, such that would be devoid of hatred and discord.

Recall, Sir Alfred Ogunjana led- regime, winded off, paving way for this new set of National Executive Council. The Royal Majesty beseeched the immediate past Executive Council Members to ensure the wise counsel for new regime, was sustained.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected National President, Alhaji Sule Olanrewaju Bakare, called upon all members of the community to unite and support the newly elected leadership in achieving success in the development of the community.

Alhaji Bakare, emphasized that under his leadership, IPU would prioritize the establishment of a Database of Ifaki Sons and Daughters across the globe. He said the database would serve as a valuable resource for fostering connectivity and collaboration amongst members of the Ifaki Community globally.

Furthermore, he announced that the union would embark on an Infrastructure Audit to assess the physical structures belonging to the Ifaki Community; to identify areas for maintenance and improvement, ensuring that these assets are utilized optimally for the benefit of the Community.

Alhaji Bakare, however outlined plans to establish a 10-Yr Ifaki Development Agenda Committee that would comprise the Presidents and Secretaries of all Social Clubs in Ifaki and the Federation of Ifaki Students’ Union (FISU), to be tasked with developing a comprehensive long-term development plan for the Community.

Aina Adekunle – Ass National Secretary, Ayodeji Ayodele Ogunleye Miliki – Auditor, Oluwa Olaoluwa Lawal- Financial Secretary, Olufemi David Ogundaisi- PRO, and Organizing Secretary, Mr. Sesan Ojo
