President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a list of nominees to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as board members of the South West Development Commission (SWDC).

In a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read on the Senate floor on Thursday, President Tinubu nominated Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi from Ekiti State as Chairman of the Commission, with Charles Akinola proposed as Managing Director.

The full list of nominees includes: Bolaji Ariyo, Joseph Olugbenga, Scholastica Omoworare, Olumuyiwa Olabimtan, Adewinle Martins, Ibrahim Olaifa, Kabiru Lakwaya, Retired General Abdul Adamu, Arinola Fagbemi, Ukoha Onyekwere, Howell Ihenacho, Olugbenga Olufehinti, Tele Ogunjobi, Funmilayo Tejuosho, Fatai Ibikunle, and Lateef Ajijola.

The nominees are expected to undergo screening and confirmation by the Senate in the coming days. The establishment of the SWDC is aimed at accelerating development across the six states of the South West region.
