♻ Today makes it two years Ekiti people voted Governor Oyebanji, but October 16 will make it two years of taking the oath of office as Governor.
So far, it has been a remarkable transformation across various sectors, making it feel like he has already served four years. Mr Governor has consistently demonstrated his commitment to good governance and remained focused on the path of development for Ekiti State.
♻ The rice palliative distribution marks the fifth palliative effort by the state government, supplementing Mr Governor’s regular intervention programs for vulnerable citizens. To avoid a stampede, the distribution was made through representatives and leadership of groups, communities, associations, and political parties receiving palliatives to share with their members.
♻ Recognizing that some citizens might be left out, the Governor directed that the distribution be extended to strategic locations across Ekiti and be share to those not affiliated with any group. The First Lady, Her Excellency, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji furthered this initiative by distributing palliatives to farmsteads a few days ago.
♻ Governor Oyebanji views palliatives as a temporary measure and strives for sustainable solutions to food scarcity and hunger in the state. He has initiated several interventions, such as recruitment and empowerment of Agro Marshalls, to secure farmlands as well as distribution of farm inputs and seedlings to young farmers to ensure food surplus next year and beyond. These efforts are part of the Governor’s broader strategy to drive out poverty and hunger through substantial agricultural investment.
♻ The government is not only providing tools and resources for agricultural initiatives but also ensuring that off-takers are available for timely and fair patronage.
Governor Oyebanji prioritizes local businesses. Last year, he patronized the Ekiti Sheep, Goat, and Ram Sellers Association for bulk purchase of sallah rams, a practice that continued this year. The local content law mandates patronizing local businesses to ensure resource inflow and circulation, a principle the Governor upholds for shared prosperity.
