The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed that it is investigating the reported killing of a woman identified as Arinola by her husband, Dare, in the Adebayo area of Ado Ekiti on Saturday, Ekiti News reports.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, the matter was reported to the police by the couple’s children.
He said, “Police investigating the matter.
“We received the information from their children. The incident happened on Saturday, 27th April 2024.”
A source who shed more light on the matter said that in the process of the fight, neighbours came with a view to intervene, but they found the door to their place locked. When they could not break the door open, some of the people around removed some of the building ceilings to gain entry to separate them.
The source said, “They met the deceased and her husband with injuries all over their bodies. The woman looked unconscious and was immediately rushed to the hospital but she gave up the ghost before they got to the hospital.”
The source, however, said that the matter was reported to the police while the man had been taken to an undisclosed hospital where he was receiving treatment under close monitoring by the police.
