The Ekiti State Police Command has apprehended seven suspects for various alleged offenses, including stealing, armed robbery, burglary, and attempted murder.

The State Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Adeniran, represented by the command’s PRO, DSP Sunday Abutu, announced during the suspects’ parade that on March 7, the command’s Rapid Response Squad apprehended one Peter Olutade with 18 lengths of 12 mm iron rods valued at N261,000 belonging to Ekiti State Airport under construction.

The Commissioner stated that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and said he had previously stolen some iron rods from the site.

He further stated that on February 17, one Ayeni Emmanuel and Suleiman Olaoluwa were arrested within Ekiti State University campus while attempting to remove one Toyota Matrix Car at the car park. The PRO said “Investigation revealed that the suspects were responsible for stealing a Toyota Corolla car in Ado-Ekiti on 27-05-21, a Toyota Camry car in Ado-Ekiti on 02-10-22, a Toyota Camry car in Ado-Ekiti on 07-12-22, belonging to different owners.

The Commissioner commended the public-spirited individuals for their timely and valuable information that contributed to the success of their operations.
