The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, alongside other lawmakers, participated in a one-day fireside chat with the New Generation Girls and Women Initiative. The discussion centered on the need to domesticate the Maputo Protocol in Ekiti State.

The Maputo Protocol, a key human rights treaty adopted by the African Union, came into force in 2005. It upholds comprehensive rights for women, including political participation, gender equality, reproductive health autonomy, and the elimination of harmful practices such as female genital mutilation.
