The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his unwavering commitment to the independence and welfare of the legislative arm, describing it as a reflection of true progressive leadership.

Aribasoye gave the commendation during a meeting with staff of the Assembly, noting that the ongoing remodeling of the Assembly complex—slated for commissioning in October—demonstrates the Governor’s genuine desire for a strong and independent legislature.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti by the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media, Babajide Agbeyo.

The Speaker urged Assembly staff to remain committed, consistent, and professional in their duties, stressing the need to build on past achievements and set new goals for improved service delivery.

He highlighted the mid-year period as a time for reflection and strategic planning, calling on the workforce to adopt effective techniques that will sustain the Assembly’s status as a productive institution.

Reflecting on the achievements of the 7th Assembly under his leadership, Aribasoye listed the introduction of ICT for legislative operations, activation of the staff loans board, staff training across departments, and the purchase of a coastal bus as major milestones.

He also congratulated lawmakers and staff for witnessing the second half of the year, urging them to continue adding value to the legislative process to boost institutional productivity.

In her remarks, the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Titilope Agbede, appreciated the 7th Assembly’s leadership for providing modern facilities and praised the Speaker for the introduction of a free health initiative and other welfare programmes for staff.
