In his characteristic style, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, paid an unscheduled early morning visit to the popular Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort on Sunday.
The Governor, who took a casual walk from his country home to the Resort, mingled freely with tourists at the spring, taking pictures and exchanging pleasantries. He also posed for group photographs with members of the Recreation and Tours team, once again showing his trademark humility and connection with the people.
During the visit, the Governor was introduced to Sade, the Resort’s spa masseuse, and expressed delight that the spa facility is now fully operational. He inspected the spa and commended the management for the impressive standard of the facility. He hinted that he would schedule a session at the spa before leaving Ikogosi and promised to inform the First Lady about the services available.
Governor Oyebanji also restated his plan to officially inaugurate the newly constructed hiking trail at the Resort. He noted that, depending on his schedule, he intends to lead the first hike along the trail on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The Governor extended his tour to Camp A, where he assessed ongoing civil engineering work, with particular attention to the drainage system. He expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded and gave assurance of continued support for the project.
While leaving Camp A, Governor Oyebanji observed a vehicle speeding down a slope and immediately recommended the installation of prefabricated speed bumps as a safety measure ahead of the planned road rerouting within the Resort premises.
Governor Oyebanji’s visit once again reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for tourism development in the State. His satisfaction with the pace of infrastructural upgrades and operational improvements further underscores the government’s commitment to making Ekiti a top destination for recreation and eco-tourism.
