The Oye Local Government Youth Forum has refuted claims surrounding its recent meeting with Senator Cyril Fasuyi, dismissing misleading comparisons about the support extended to the group.

In a statement issued by the forum’s Public Relations Officer, Onipede Oluwaseun Gboyega, the group clarified that the meeting was not just an empowerment session but a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration with the senator.

According to the statement, Senator Fasuyi has been instrumental in securing federal appointments for five delegates from the local government while also facilitating free JAMB registration for over 400 youths.

Addressing the controversy over the mention of a bottle of wine, the forum urged the public to disregard the claims, stressing that alcohol is not a tool for youth empowerment. It described the gesture as one of goodwill, not an endorsement of drinking.

“The group making these accusations is known for holding meetings where excessive alcohol consumption is common, which calls their credibility into question,” the statement read.

The youth forum commended Senator Fasuyi for his unwavering commitment to the development of Oye Local Government and reaffirmed its support for his initiatives. It also encouraged open discussions on the matter to foster unity and progress.
