Okemesi/Ido-Ile Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State has warned contractors that it will not tolerate substandard work.
The Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Ajibade Sunday Owolabi, issued the warning on Wednesday in Okemesi-Ekiti during the official opening of contract bids for projects slated for execution in the council.
At an event attended by contractors and representatives of regulatory bodies, the Chairman emphasized the Council’s commitment to transparency and accountability in executing its projects.
Hon. Ajibade stressed the need for contractors to ensure all projects are completed according to specifications, assuring that the process will be the most transparent ever witnessed in the Council.
He commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his support, which he described as a testament to the governor’s passion and zeal for grassroots development.
Meanwhile, Hon. Ajibade has called on the youth of Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA and Ekiti State to embrace peace and dialogue, especially as protests begin nationwide today.
He stated that dialogue, rather than violent protest, will be more effective in achieving desired outcomes.
Hon. Ajibade also urged the council’s youth not to become agents of destruction but instead to act as instruments of peace.
The council boss advised parents to caution their children against being used by elements hiding under the guise of protest to carry out evil agendas.
