The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Hon. (Barr.) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim has facilitated skill acquisition training and empowerment for 500 unemployed youths and women in Ekiti State.
The participants underwent a 2-day training in bead making and makeup artistry at the Moba Local Government Secretariat Complex, Otun Ekiti.
Speaking at the event, held from Friday, 23rd to Saturday, 24th August 2024, Hon. Ibrahim, represented by the Director-General of the IBO Political Family, Hon. Banji Borisade, stated that the training and empowerment initiative was driven by his desire to reduce unemployment and empower women and youths to become self-reliant.
The Presidential Aide noted that although 500 people were currently being trained, he hoped to see even more individuals benefit from the training in the future.
He urged the trainees to take full advantage of the opportunity and strive to become employers of labour.
At the end of the 2-day training, Hon. Ibrahim provided the trainees with start-up kits and funds to help them begin their handicrafts businesses.
The event was attended by the Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Hon. Bamidele Omoleye; the Chairman of Ero Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Cecilia Ibiloye; the Secretary of Isokan LCDA, Hon. Bayo Famoroti; Ero LCDA Secretary, Hon. Kekereawo Segun; Moba APC Chieftain, Mr. Joy Akani Omooseparo, among many others.
