Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has pledged his administration’s dedication to supporting and empowering drivers and other artisans in the state to foster the growth of the state’s economy.
Ekiti News reports that the governor also announced that the dualization of the Ado-Ekiti-Ikare-Akoko road will soon begin.
Governor Oyebanji emphasized his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the federal government in tackling the infrastructure issues facing the state. This includes prioritizing the dualization of the 31-kilometer highway linking Ekiti to the FCT via Ondo, Edo, and Kogi states.
The Governor made these remarks in Ado-Ekiti during the inauguration of the newly constructed office complex of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ekiti State Chapter.
He highlighted that the continuity of government from a single political party would bring unprecedented development to the state. He attributed the minor setbacks experienced in the state to the transition of power to other political parties.
The Chairman of NURTW in Ekiti, Joseph Falope, also known as Oloforo, earlier appealed to the governor to empower members by procuring vehicles for drivers in Ekiti.
Falope expressed appreciation to the governor for his developmental policies across all sectors of the state. He pledged the union members’ support to the governor in fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of the state.
Additionally, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Steve Aribasoye, advocated for Governor Oyebanji to contest for a second term in office, echoing the residents’ call.
The Speaker assured the support of the 7th Assembly to the present administration, aiming to create a lasting impact and foster development for the state.
