Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has authorized the release of N200 million for car and housing loans for primary school teachers in the state.
This action fulfills the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that teachers in public primary schools in the state receive similar benefits to those enjoyed by their counterparts in secondary schools.
The initial installment of N50 million has been deposited into the pool for the month of January, following the Governor’s directive.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser ( Media) to the Governor, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode on Thursday, in Ado-Ekiti.
The car and housing loans operate on a revolving basis. The pool of funds is regularly replenished as beneficiaries fulfill their monthly repayment obligations.
Recall that Governor Oyebanji, during a meeting with Education Secretaries last month, pledged to revise the policy that previously excluded primary school teachers from accessing car and housing loans.
This adjustment aims to allocate funds specifically for car and housing loans to primary school teachers in the state, aligning with the administration’s goal of motivating them for outstanding service delivery.
The introduction of the new loan system for primary school teachers reflects the administration’s human capital development policy. It also underscores the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers in the state, ensuring they receive all entitlements in line with the shared prosperity agenda.
