Contemporary society issues require proper leadership representation and actions to create change. In Ekiti State for instance, so many governors have served Ekiti people within the reach of their respective abilities. However, for the incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji, impactful drive for Ekiti State Development appears to be his main mission, with focus on how to elevate the ordinary citizens from Poverty to prosperity.
Governor Oyebanji started his administration by teaching his team of supporters how they can take active roles in determining the quality of leadership for the State. Having served in strategic positions in previous administrations of his mentors – Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Governor knows where the shoe pinches the people, understand their feelings, fears and aspirations and has mapped out strategy to take care of their needs and give them a better life.
His transformative leadership has put the state in the news for the right reasons in the past one and a half years, and the attendant result is that the people have taken ownership of the government and its numerous projects and policies.
By taking a stand with his evident leadership Capacity. Governor Oyebanji is not only leading Ekiti State to Stardom, but also sending a clear message that his leadership is for the betterment of the common man. This coupled with his systemic manner he is upgrading infrastructure across the state led to his emergence as Independent Newspaper’s Governor of the Year (Community Development) Award 2023. Desperation has never been part of his training. He has demystified power and returned power to the people at the community level, party level and at governance level. Putting the people first is the new thing our amiable Governor has brought to the politics table.
Governor BAO, is irrevocably committed to the advancement of the state. This informs his decision to partner with relevant institutions and development agencies to create job and economic opportunities for the citizens. As the Governor leads on this path of honour, we, the citizens follow, focusing on the gains of the administration’s shared prosperity agenda.
