The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has pledged the legislature’s continued support for initiatives that promote education and scholarship opportunities for young people in the state.

He made this commitment during a courtesy visit by the Founder of Scholarships Café, Dr. Muyiwa Igbalajobi, at the Assembly complex earlier in the week.

In a statement signed by the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media, Babajide Agbeyo, Aribasoye emphasized his passion for youth empowerment, describing himself as a young leader committed to transformative change.

The Speaker assured that the Assembly would continue to enact policies that enhance academic opportunities and support scholars.

Dr. Igbalajobi, accompanied by his team, highlighted the impact of Scholarships Café in securing fully and partially funded scholarships for thousands of students globally. An alumnus of Ekiti State University, he recalled benefiting from a state government scholarship before advancing his studies in South Korea and Canada.

Expressing his desire to see more Ekiti youths tap into global educational opportunities, he sought legislative backing to facilitate scholarship access for aspiring scholars.

In response, Speaker Aribasoye commended Igbalajobi’s dedication to giving back to society and assured him of the Assembly’s willingness to collaborate on initiatives that promote education. He reaffirmed that education remains a legislative priority, stressing the Assembly’s commitment to laws and policies that strengthen the sector.

The visiting team presented souvenirs to the Speaker while applauding the 7th Assembly’s digital revolution initiative and other progressive achievements under Aribasoye’s leadership.
