The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has expressed grief over the passing of the wife of the Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe
Mrs. Gbemisola Olowolafe died on March 11 at the age of 63.
In a condolence statement signed by Babajide Agbeyo, Special Adviser (Media) to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye acknowledged that the passing of Madam Gbemisola no doubt marks the loss of a pillar of support, noting that words cannot express the space she filled in the life of her husband.
He expressed shock at the news of her passing, stating that he has found it difficult to come to terms with the reality of this sad event.
“One can only imagine, in empathy, the pain of this loss to you and your family. Your darling wife, now departed, filled a most significant space in your life, and words may not be enough to give you soothing relief at this moment of intense grieving,” Aribasoye bemoaned.
The Speaker urged the former Chairman of GZ Industries to be encouraged by the words of God and the reality of our mortality as human beings.
“A true mother is gone, a matriarch has departed, and a virtuous wife is no more. Mummy will be fondly remembered for her roles as a supportive wife and a responsible mother. I use this opportunity to implore you to take heart and be strong during this trying moment.”
The Ekiti Speaker prayed that God would supply strength to the family throughout this somber period and fill the vacuum left behind by the passing of Mrs. Olowolafe.
