The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has condoled with the Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs. Monisade Afuye, over the demise of her mother.
The 97-year-old Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye, as announced by the family, died in the early hours of Tuesday after a protracted illness.
In a press statement, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye acknowledged that the loss of one’s parent is always a painful experience, notwithstanding how old they lived, urging the Deputy Governor to take heart and absorb the pains of her mother’s passing.
Aribasoye said, “We always wish to have our parents around forever, but unfortunately, God has designed the world as a stage with entry and exit. As much as we share in your pain, I wish to implore you to be consoled by the good name Mama left behind.”
The Speaker described the late Madam Adegboye as a lucky and fulfilled mother who produced the number two citizen of Ekiti State and other glorious children, grandchildren, and more, adding that the Deputy Governor readily reflects the background of good motherhood.
“Your Excellency, as I mourn with you, I also rejoice with you that your mother lived to a good old age and was alive to witness your ascension to the position of Deputy Governor, among other things. You are no doubt one of the reflections and evidence of her good parenting and motherly role.” Aribasoye affirmed
He prayed that God would give the family the fortitude to bear the loss of the cherished matriarch and extend the grace of longevity to those she left behind.
“May this demise be bearable for the family through the grace of God. I also pray that longevity will be the lot of the children, grandchildren, and younger generations that are succeeding the late nonagenarian.”
