Hon. Sunday Adunmo, the Project Coordinator for Ekiti State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) has charged the RAAMP Grievance Redress Committee to discharge their duties in the beneficiary communities justly and conscientiously.
Ekiti News reports that the RAAMP Project Coordinator gave this charge during the inauguration of the Grievance Redress Committee in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday 22nd May 2024.
Hon. Adunmo also emphasised that the main function of the Committee is to address grievances that might arise during the implementation of the project in benefitting communities and that the support of benefitting communities is of utmost importance to the successful execution of the project.
He urged the committee to sensitise the benefiting communities on certain construction areas which farmers may misunderstand, especially right of way, while he also assured farmers that should any construction work affect their lands, they would be adequately and promptly compensated before such construction begins.
Earlier, the Social Safeguard Officer inaugurated the GRC in the 13 benefitting communities, with a mandate to treat grievances confidentially, impartially, and transparently. The communities include Omisanjana and Igirigiri in Ado Ekiti, Erinmope Ekiti, Ikere Ekiti, Afolu in Ise Ekiti, Osi Ekiti, Emure Ekiti, Ikogosi Ekiti, Are Ekiti, Ilupeju Ekiti and Oke Ako.
