The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission has commenced interviews for the appointment of Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs) in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Approved Scheme of Service for Local Government Employees in Nigeria, Fourth Revised Edition (2006), and the Ekiti State Local Government Administration Law, 2023.


Ekiti News reports that the two day exercise slated for Monday, 15th and Tuesday,16th April, 2024 respectively holds at the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission by 10 am prompt.

This was contained in a statement signed by Stanley A. Familoye, Director of Information and Civic Orientation on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.


It will be recalled that the prospective candidates for the position of HLAs have earlier written a selection examination on Thursday, 21st March, 2024.


A total of 105 eligible officers who were already on Grade Level 16 and those due for GL 16 by 2023 across the various cadres in the Local Government Service wrote the qualifying examination out of which 56 candidates met the required cut- off marks.


Addressing the eligible officers, the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Chief Samuel Alaba Abejide who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission, Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo said that the appointment of the HLAs was going to be based purely on merit, capacity and in accordance with relevant public service guidelines.

The Chairman added that the interview process for other categories of staff will commence immediately in line with the approval and directive of the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in respect of 2022 and 2023 promotion of qualified and eligible officers.
