Dr. John Ekundayo, the Director-General of the Ekiti State Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, has urged senior staff in the State Civil Service to enhance collaboration through mindset development. This, he emphasized, is crucial for achieving the shared prosperity agenda of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji-led administration in the State.

Ekiti News reports that the Director General made the call in Ado-Ekiti during a 3-day training programme for selected Senior Management staff drawn from Government Ministries, Parastatals and Agencies (MDAs) .

Ekundayo, describing the civil service as the engine room of government, charged workers to discharge their duties with excellence, integrity, and compassion.

The Director-General of OTSD emphasized that the rapidly changing world demands that public servants in the State be creative, empathetic, resilient, and team-oriented to deliver exceptional service, drive innovation, and foster a culture of inclusivity for development.

Ekundayo underscored that senior civil servants should leverage technology, embrace change and innovation, and prioritize the needs of the end beneficiaries of government policies and programs in their duties.

He stated that the approach is crucial for the successful implementation of the six pillars of the present administration.

He emphasized further that civil servants are to strive and sustain the highest ethical standards, recognize the strength in the individual differences of actors and demonstrate transparency and integrity.

The “Transforming Public Service Through Mindshift Values” training spanned three days and was organized by the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery. It targeted Champions, Champion Assistants, Key Directors, Accounting Officers, Advisors, and Political Office Holders from MDAs across Ekiti State.

Ekundayo emphasized the importance of civil servants cultivating a resilient mindset to navigate challenges with agility and determination.

The OTSD DG stressed the need to break silos and harness the collective expertise of various government organs to improve service delivery.

He urged government officials to embrace this Mindshift approach to contribute to a better and prosperous future for Ekiti State, aligning with the administration’s goals under Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
