The Special Assistant on Social Media to the Ekiti State Governor, Oluwasegun Aina, has extended financial support to 30 students in his constituency to facilitate their registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The event, held at the palace of the Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti, Oba John Falore Adegbenro Ajigbade III, saw each beneficiary receive N8,000 to cover the cost of purchasing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) form.

Speaking at the occasion, Aina stated that his passion for youth development and education motivated him to assist young people in his constituency, encouraging them to focus on their studies and avoid social vices.

The beneficiaries, drawn from communities including Ifaki, Orin, Odo-Ora, Oke-Ora, Ilogun, Aaye, Ifisin, Igbole, and Ido-Ekiti, had expressed their desire to participate in the ongoing JAMB registration exercise. Aina emphasized that education remains the best form of empowerment for the youth and that his gesture aligns with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to educational advancement in Ekiti State.

Reflecting on his own academic journey, Aina recalled how his principal supported his Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) and how he is currently near completion of his Master’s degree in Mass Communication at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and make the most of the opportunity for a brighter future.

In his remarks, Oba Adegbenro congratulated the students and commended Governor Oyebanji for appointing Aina, whom he described as a positive influence in the community.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the governor for appointing Aina, and prayed for Governor Oyebanji re-election to sustain his developmental strides in the state.

Also present at the event were the President of Ifaki Students’ Union, Comrade Oluwatosin Samuel Ojo, and the President of the National Association of Ido/Osi Local Government Students, Comrade Ige Oluwasegun Anthony, who praised Aina for his commitment to youth development.
