Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has extended his condolences following the passing of Mr. Olugbaye Taiwo, the bus driver of the abducted pupils from Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primary School, Emure Ekiti.

Ekiti News reports that Mr. Olugbaye met a tragic fate, losing his life while in the custody of the kidnappers.

The school pupils and their teachers were released on Sunday morning and are receiving medical treatment at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, on Sunday, Governor Oyebanji conveyed his condolences to the family of the late driver, assuring that the perpetrators of the heinous crime would be apprehended and brought to book.

The Governor said security agencies in the state have been put on red alert, adding that government would not relent in the efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
