The Ekiti State monthly environmental sanitation exercise is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This month’s theme is “Sanitation and Hygiene: Key to Cholera Prevention.”
Ekiti News reports that Erelu Tosin Aluko Ajisafe, the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources,
emphasizes the critical importance of maintaining clean environments and proper hygiene practices, especially in light of recent public health concerns and the need to prevent cholera outbreaks.
The Commissioner noted that the exercise aims to underscore these points and ensure a healthier Ekiti State.
Erelu Ajisafe called on all residents to actively participate in cleaning their surroundings and ensuring proper waste disposal.
She stated, “I urge all citizens to comply with this directive and contribute to a cleaner, healthier Ekiti State. Together, we can prevent cholera and other sanitation-related diseases.”
Movement within Ekiti State will be restricted during the sanitation hours, except for those on special duties.
