The Ekiti State House of Assembly has conducted screening for Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Fajobi and Dr. (Barr.) Joshua Adeoye, who are nominees for the position of Commissioners in the State Universal Basic

After receiving a letter from Governor Biodun Oyebanji requesting the screening and confirmation of three nominees for appointments in the state, which was read by the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, during the plenary session on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, the three nominees appeared before the House Committees for their screening on Friday, February 9th, 2024.

Dr. (Mrs) Olufunke Fajobi and Dr. (Barr.) Joshua Adeoye who are SUBEB Commissioner nominees appeared before the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology Chaired by Hon. Jacob Adeyemi Awoniyi (Moba II).

The two nominees who were formal SUBEB Commissioners rolled out plans to engender better performance from teachers and pupils through watertight monitoring and Quality Assurance activities of all the schools in the State.

They both emphasized on the importance of training for teachers, Education Officers of the board and staff of the Local Government Education Area, to equip them with the right skills, knowledge, and attitude to accomplish the vision and mission of the Board.

Mr James Folorunso, a retired Permanent Secretary in the ministry of finance, appeared before the House Committee on Due Process and SDG chaired by Hon. Femi Fatunla (Ikole I) as a nominee to the office of Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement.

The nominee answered questions from members of the Committee and assured them of his commitment to continue to serve the State by keeping the State working towards shared prosperity.

The House Committees would submit their reports at the plenary of Thursday 15th February, 2024 for consideration and the possible confirmation of the nominees.
