The Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Transport has carried out an oversight visit to examine the progress of construction on the Ikere-Igbara Odo Road, Igbara Odo-Ikogosi Road, and Ilawe-Igede Road in the state.
During the visit, the committee, led by its Chairman, Hon. Tony Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South/West Constituency 1, raised concerns about the quality of the drainage systems and stone base overlay being employed in the construction.
They stressed the importance of the contractor adhering to the contract specifications and insisted that work should not proceed until these concerns are adequately addressed.
Hon. Adaramodu reiterated the Governor Oyebanji’s dedication to ensuring quality infrastructure, emphasizing that “the Governor will never authorize or tolerate substandard work, regardless of the urgency for completion due to the impending rainy season.”
The committee emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring the quality of road construction projects in Ekiti State, highlighting the government’s determination to provide durable infrastructure for its citizens.
