…Leads another endorsement for BAO.

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has expressed confidence that the incumbent Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), will earn a second term in office.
The lawmaker, who led All Progressives Congress (APC) members from his home ward and two other wards on Wednesday to endorse the governor for another term, said the good works of the governor have earned him the acceptance of party members and the state at large.

Aribasoye recalled the benefits derived by the three wards and Ikole Local Government in general under the Oyebanji administration, adding that more dividends beckon if the governor is able to secure another term in office.
But he explained that the poor state of the Ayedun–Ayebode road was due to its status as a federal road, for which the desire of the state to fix it was hampered by the federal government’s new policy against reimbursing states that fix federal roads.

However, the Speaker assured the people that respite was in sight as the road has now been duly awarded to CECC road construction company which has commenced work from the Kogi axis of the road.
Expressing confidence in Governor Oyebanji, Aribasoye described him as a marketable and familiar product, already tested and trusted by the APC and the people of Ekiti, noting that it would amount to political naivety and miscalculation to change a winning team.
He cautioned members of the wards to beware of crusaders of retrogression who seek to confuse the people and make them work against a popular regime, as he advised members in the axis to maintain firm loyalty for the benefit of the state and its people in general.
In various speeches earlier, stakeholders spoke glowingly about the incumbent governor, describing him as a performer and a promise keeper.
Ward chairmen and party stakeholders recalled some achievements of the administration, including roads that were fixed, the facilitation of the upgrade of the General Hospital to a Federal Medical Center in Ikole, the renovation of Ayebode Maternity Centre, and tangible appointments and elective positions enjoyed by people of the area, among several other benefits listed.
One of the party and community elders in the area, Chief Ola Adeniyi, moved the motion for the endorsement of the governor for another term, and he was seconded by Chief Alonge Folorunso.
Chief Adeniyi appreciated the role being played by the Assembly Speaker and his colleagues in ensuring stability in the system, noting that their support and peaceful relationship with the governor was the reason anyone could be talking of endorsement at a time like this.
The endorsement declaration, which cut across wards 8, 9 and 10 in the Local Government was crowned and stamped by Aribasoye, enjoying a unanimous and resounding affirmation by the large crowd of party faithful within the Ayedun, Ayebode, and Esun axis.
After the endorsement session, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye visited strategic points in his ward to further engage with the people, reaching out to them in cash and kind in his usual style, while emphasizing the need for sustained support of the Oyebanji administration for the sake of continuity and good governance in Ekiti State.
