The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has warned that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikole Local Government found associating with opposition elements or working against the party’s interest will face disciplinary action.

Speaking during a ward meeting at Oke Ayedun Ward 10, where Governor Biodun Oyebanji was formally endorsed for a second term, Aribasoye described the activities of some internal actors as a threat to the unity of the party.

“Any executive or member caught hobnobbing with those working to destabilise the APC will be suspended or sanctioned. We must not allow betrayal within our ranks,” the Speaker stated.

He called on all party stakeholders to remain committed to APC principles and warned against secret meetings and alignment with rival political forces ahead of the next election season.

Earlier, during a stakeholder meeting in Ikole, the Speaker urged party members to scrutinise every new entrant into the party and discourage any group loyalty that may divide the APC.

“The only priority now is the re-election of Governor Oyebanji. Every other ambition must be suspended for now,” he said.

Party leaders present at the meeting expressed support for his stance on party discipline and pledged to maintain unity at the grassroots level.
