The Executive Chairman of Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA in Ekiti State, Hon. Ajibade Sunday Owolabi, has issued a call for optimism among Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, Ekiti News reports.

In a congratulatory message he personally signed on Wednesday, Hon. Owolabi urged citizens to eschew negativity and reaffirm their dedication to the advancement of the nation.

The council boss emphasized the significance of commemorating another June 12, which signifies 25 years of continuous democratic governance in Nigeria.

Hon. Owolabi, stressing the significance of unity among the people, highlighted its crucial role in sustaining our democratic journey.

The council boss expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for enabling democracy at the local government level and granting autonomy to the councils in Ekiti State.

He encouraged other governors who oppose local government autonomy to emulate the positive example set by the Governor of Ekiti State.

Hon. Owolabi urged all Nigerians, especially those in Ekiti, to stand firm and safeguard our emerging democracy with vigilance.

“On behalf of my family, executive, legislative arm, and management team of Okemesi/Ido-Ile LCDA, I wish you a happy Democracy Day. Long live Okemesi-Ido-Ile LCDA, Long live Ekiti State; Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he stated.
