BAO MOXIE, a frontline group in Ekiti State, has extended its congratulations to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on the occasion of his two-year anniversary of delivering transformational leadership in the state.
The group declared their readiness to support and vote massively for Governor Oyebanji in 2026, citing his outstanding performance across all sectors. They highlighted the Governor’s notable achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development, emphasizing that his leadership has brought about tangible progress in Ekiti State.
At a press briefing held on Friday at the DOMFAS International Leadership Academy Hall, Ado-Ekiti in commemoration of Governor Oyebanji’s second year anniversary, Dr. Mojeed Akinwumi, State Leader of BAO MOXIE, outlined the organization’s role. He emphasized that BAO MOXIE, an affiliate of the Frontiers for Good Governance (FGG), is dedicated to advancing good governance initiatives in Ekiti State.
Dr. Mojeed said the group has consistently studied the dynamics of governance in Ekiti since its inception and discovered that the current administration stands out in terms of its impact on people’s lives.
The BAO MOXIE State Leader said Governor Oyebanji is fair, firm, just, compassionate, and a true leader whose leadership style is based on social democratic principles, with a focus on the well-being of the vulnerable and the empowerment of the weak.
According to him, under the leadership of Governor Oyebanji, Ekiti State has become a shining beacon of unity, progress, and development.
He said, “Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to inclusivity is reflected in his appointment process, which allows party leaders and interest groups in the state to nominate qualified and competent representatives, ensuring that diverse perspectives and voices are heard.
“This approach has instilled a sense of belonging in all citizens, regardless of background or affiliation.
“The Governor’s leadership style is based on social democratic principles, with a focus on the well-being of the vulnerable and the empowerment of the weak.
“BAO MOXIE’s admiration for Governor Oyebanji’s strategies is justified, given the governor’s impressive collaboration with federal appointees, lawmakers, and key stakeholders.
“His human resource strategies, implemented through Ekiti State stakeholder engagement recently in Abuja, are bearing fruit.
“Furthermore, strategic partnerships with federal agencies, stakeholders, and private sector investors are yielding project funding results, including a significant increase in federal project approvals, which is unprecedented in Ekiti’s history.
“This is monumental and may be why, for the first time in Ekiti’s history, all former governors and National Assembly members are united in supporting a serving governor for a second term, just two years into his first term in office.”
While expressing support for Governor Oyebanji’s second term, Dr. Mojeed Akinwumi stated, “We are thrilled to announce the establishment of BAO MOXIE groups across the three senatorial districts, local government, and ward levels in Ekiti State, based on our conviction that His Excellency has done well in office.”
“This strategic move aims to spread the message of hope and support the call for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office by 2026.
“As part of our grassroots mobilization efforts, we have decided to pool our resources to produce 5,000 branded shirts and caps. We have also been running a billboard advertisement at the Oke-Isha junction for the past four months to highlight his accomplishments and decisive actions to achieve results.
“His vision for Ekiti as a land of prosperity, opportunity, peace, and progress resonates deeply with our group.
“We believe that Governor Oyebanji’s re-election will ensure continuity and consolidation of his administration’s achievements.”
He, therefore, called on well-meaning residents to join hands with Governor Biodun Oyebanji to ensure his continuation in office beyond 2026.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (NACOMYO), Alhaji Mudasir Yusuf, said that their support for Governor Oyebanji was informed by his outstanding performance and track record over the last two years, saying he had not disappointed the state.
Alhaji Mudasir lauded the achievements of the Governor since assuming office, noting that he has proven to the world that he is responsible and responsive enough to be entrusted with power.
The NACOMYO Coordinator added that the Governor has taken Ekiti State to new heights, and Ekiti citizens in the diaspora are now proud to identify with the state.
He said the Governor would be the first to be elected back-to-back in the history of Ekiti.
In his goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tertiary Education, Prof. Akeem Azeez, thanked the leadership of the group for their efforts in supporting Governor Oyebanji.
Prof. Azeez lauded the leadership qualities of Governor Oyebanji and his understanding of governance, which has transformed the state.
According to him, the Governor’s performance has limited opposition in Ekiti, as all stakeholders are in support of him.
He said the achievements of Governor Oyebanji in just two years could be mistaken for seven, and he advised the group to work relentlessly for the Governor’s continuation beyond 2026.
The press briefing concluded with the stakeholders of BAO MOXIE reiterating their commitment to taking their campaign into every nook and cranny of the state, ensuring that everyone knows that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) is their preferred option for leadership until 2030.
