The events of the last few days in Ekiti State, which otherwise remains the most peaceful and safe state in the federation truly called for deep retrospection as to what could have led to the mayhem unleashed by the men of the underworld and the rather unfortunate incidences that followed.
Even as we continue to commiserate with the family of the deceased and share in their pains, one of the most important things to note is the level of reaction and response immediately given by the state Executive council led by His Excellency, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) in addressing the security lapses as well as ensuring such unfortunate circumstance doesn’t rear its ugly head in the state again.
Mr Governor’s proactiveness, commitment and foresight were truly evident as he not only personally visited the families of the victims but also met with numerous security agencies through strategic visits to the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defence Staff, the National Security Adviser, the Inspector General of Police, e.t.c all in a bid to ensure the release of the abducted pupils, gauge the security architecture of the state for further improvement to guard against a reoccurrence and also ensure Ekiti remains safe for all.
This led to the swift release of the abducted children who are now being stabilised and given prompt medical attention at the State Teaching Hospital.
A kind and caring Governor indeed.
Governor Oyebanji remains a true leader with a heart of gold yearning towards the plight of the people and one that is committed and dedicated to leading Ekiti towards shared prosperity. The peace, progress and development of Ekiti State has never been so promising and assured.
May the Lord continue to bless His Excellency, comfort the bereaved and prosper Ekiti Kete and Nigeria at large.
