The State Endorsement Committee for the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), has inaugurated Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) across the 16 local government areas of the state, ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
The announcement was made by the Secretary of the Committee, Rt. Hon. Karounwi Oladapo, who stated that the LOCs are composed of community leaders, youth and women representatives, political stakeholders, and civil society actors.
According to Oladapo, the LOCs are saddled with the responsibility of driving grassroots mobilization, policy sensitization, and organizing community-level endorsement activities for Governor Oyebanji’s second-term bid.
Speaking on the development, the Public Relations Officer of the Endorsement Committee, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the initiative is part of efforts to ensure effective coordination of what he described as a “massive display of goodwill and people-powered validation” for the governor’s performance.
Olatunbosun noted that the LOCs will manage the endorsement events peacefully, ensuring that the programme is not hijacked or disrupted.
“Governor Oyebanji has continued to receive widespread commendation from across the state — from pensioners, artisans, labour unions, traditional institutions, youths, and women groups — for his inclusive governance, infrastructural development, and fiscal prudence,” he said.
He stressed that the overwhelming support cutting across party lines, religious affiliations, and community interests further affirms Oyebanji’s popularity and acceptance among Ekiti people.
Olatunbosun reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to a peaceful and people-oriented endorsement process, adding that the LOCs are expected to consolidate on the governor’s achievements and ensure the success of the second-term bid.
