The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oye Local Government, Hon. Samuel Ogunsakin, has issued a statement to address recent comments made by Prince Kayode Olowokere, a former Special Assistant on Political Affairs (Northern Senatorial District) to Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Recall that Olowokere had warned against the unapproved endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second term bid, a stance Ogunsakin has strongly refuted.

“It is incumbent on us in Oye Local Government to set the record straight and clear the media space of the charade by Kayode Olowokere.

“Olowokere’s comments misrepresent the image of the good people of Oye Local Government and falsely project our respected leaders,” Hon. Ogunsakin stated.

He described Olowokere as a disgruntled individual attempting to sow discord within the APC.

Hon. Ogunsakin stated, “This is one of the fallacies peddled by Olowokere to create division in the Progressive party since he and his SDP boss were humiliated by the resounding voices of the Ekiti Kete in the June 18th, 2022, Governorship Election. Despite being an appointee during the last administration, Olowokere decamped to the Social Democratic Party and opposed the endorsement and eventual emergence of the present administration.”

He further highlighted the unity and endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji by notable figures including former Governors Kayode Fayemi, Niyi Adebayo, and Ayo Fayose.

Hon. Ogunsakin said, “These leaders have openly endorsed Governor Oyebanji for a second term during the first anniversary of his administration. This unanimous endorsement, driven by the governor’s remarkable achievements and inclusive governance, stands as a testament to his leadership.”

Questioning Olowokere’s motives, Hon. Ogunsakin pointed out the incongruity of a Social Democratic Party member commenting on APC matters.

He said, “It’s perplexing how a betrayer and self-proclaimed SDP chieftain would respond on behalf of the APC to negate the openly expressed support of our party and leaders. This desperate attempt reeks of a failed ambition and clout-chasing.”

He reaffirmed the alignment of Oye Local Government’s people and leaders with Governor Oyebanji’s administration.

“Governor Oyebanji is driving economic change, fostering growth, and prioritizing the welfare of the people. His remarkable job at the helm of state affairs is recognized by all. We join numerous citizens in supporting BAO till 2030,” Hon. Ogunsakin concluded.
