Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has on Thursday, flagged off another round of palliatives distribution to the people of the state at a brief ceremony held at the Oshuntokun Pavilion, Government House grounds, Ado-Ekiti.

The palliative distribution program will provide rice, beans, and other food items to 20,000 households across the state.

Ekiti News reports that each ward in the State is receiving 50 bags while other groups and associations will benefit from this essential supplies to support local communities during challenging times.

Representatives of groups, associations and communities stormed the venue in large numbers hailing the Governor Oyebanji administration’s gesture which is aimed at cushioning the effect of the current economic situation on the people.

The Governor, in his brief remarks says efforts are being made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food security to ensure support for farmers so as to achieve food surplus by next year.
