A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Chief Segun Adelugba, has appealed to residents to sustain their backing for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s development agenda and fiscal policies even after 2026.
Adelugba made the call in Ado-Ekiti while speaking as a guest on “EJIRE”, a popular programme on Ekiti Television. He said the Governor has demonstrated fairness in spreading infrastructure projects across all parts of the State, contrary to claims by critics that development is concentrated only in the capital city.
The APC stalwart listed road rehabilitation projects across the State, including the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki, Ikere-Igbara-Odo, Itawure-Okemesi, Ido-Ile-Okemesi, Ikere-Emure, Ikole-Ara-Isinbode, Isaba-Ikoyi-Igbemo, as well as ring roads within the capital. He also cited the renovation of schools and hospitals as evidence of even distribution of development.
According to him, the governor’s focus on agriculture has helped to reduce insecurity and bring down the cost of food in the State.
Adelugba further commended former governors of Ekiti for laying solid foundations and for supporting Oyebanji’s administration, noting that the Governor’s past experience as Secretary to the Committee on Ekiti State creation and his service under past leaders continue to guide his policies.
He urged APC members who are yet to benefit from political appointments to remain patient, assuring that opportunities will reach them in due time.
The party leader also advised those who have turned 18, relocated to the State, or lost their voter cards to take advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registration exercise ahead of the next governorship election.
