Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has issued a directive for the postponement of all government events and ceremonies scheduled for this week as a mark of respect for the late chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Paul Omotosho, who passed away on Tuesday night.
Thereafter, the flag-off ceremony for the Okeyinmi Flyover Bridge in Ado Ekiti, initially scheduled for Friday, has been postponed.
Additionally, the celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day, organized by the Office of the First Lady and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, originally planned for Friday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, has been rescheduled to a later date.
According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, new dates for the postponed events would be communicated in due course.
Recall that Barrister Omotosho, the late APC chairman at different times, served as Commissioner for Housing and Environment; Commissioner for Special Duties and Commissioner for Local Government Affairs in the state.
