The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has reaffirmed the commitment of the 7th Assembly to the development vision of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, expressing full support for his administration’s ongoing projects and reforms.
Aribasoye made the declaration during a midterm stakeholders’ meeting held at his hometown, Odo Ayedun-Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area. The meeting brought together political appointees, community leaders, party executives, and stakeholders from Ikole Constituency 2.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Gbenga Agbeyo, the Speaker used the occasion to give an account of his performance halfway through his legislative term. He appreciated the support from his constituents and highlighted key achievements of the 7th Assembly under his leadership.
Aribasoye noted that the Assembly had embraced digital reforms, which earned it national recognition as the most ICT-compliant legislature among the states. He also revealed that the Assembly Loans Board had been revived, while staff welfare and capacity-building programmes were now receiving priority. For the first time in the Assembly’s history, a coastal bus was procured for official use.
At the constituency level, he listed several interventions including provision of water, electricity, and other basic amenities aimed at improving the well-being of the people.
Present at the event were notable figures such as Chief Samuel Abejide, Chief Ranti Adebisi, Chief Ola Adeniyi, Elder Dele Owolabi, Elder Agbana, Ikole Council Chairman Hon. Bayo Omojola, Ikole West LCDA Chairperson Hon. Mosunmola Adeyemo, and the APC State Legal Adviser, Barr. Adewale Adeyeye.
In their separate remarks, stakeholders commended Aribasoye for his effective representation, leadership qualities, and community-focused initiatives. Chief Abejide applauded the Speaker’s ability to combine lawmaking with tangible development projects. Barr. Adeyeye and the APC LG Chairman, Elder Ebenezer Omotosho, also urged party members to continue supporting Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
Leaders and representatives from all six wards in the constituency, political appointees and community elders praised the achievements of the Speaker and the state government.
During the event, over ₦2 million was distributed to support transportation for attendees. Muslim faithfuls were also presented with Salah gifts in celebration of Eid, while guests were treated to a warm reception.

Rt. Hon. Aribasoye also held closed-door sessions with party stakeholders, encouraging them to intensify grassroots mobilisation and maintain their support for the state government’s people-centred policies.
