The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State on Public Enlightenment, Comrade Suleiman Muhyideen Toba, has congratulated Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi on his nomination as Chairman of the South West Development Commission (SWDC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Comrade Suleiman, in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday, described the nomination as a step in the right direction, noting that Senator Adetunmbi is a “round peg in a round hole.”

He commended the President for making what he termed a strategic appointment, stressing that Adetunmbi’s vast experience in public service, especially as a former senator, would bring a new lease of life to the Commission.

“Senator Adetunmbi is a tested and trusted hand whose legislative experience and developmental mindset will be invaluable in positioning the South West Development Commission for effective service delivery,” he said.

Comrade Suleiman further stated that the Senator’s deep understanding of the region’s peculiar challenges and his unwavering commitment to regional development would be evident in his leadership.

“His deep understanding of the challenges facing the South West and his long-standing passion for regional integration will no doubt reflect in his leadership. We are proud of him and stand firmly behind him,” he added.

While extending his felicitation on behalf of his political associates, Comrade Suleiman also appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for supporting the nomination.

He called on all stakeholders across the South West to support the new Chairman with prayers, cooperation, and constructive engagement, emphasising that the success of the Commission depends on collective support and unity of purpose.
