Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ekiti North Senatorial District have declared full support for the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO), with Senator Cyril Fasuyi leading the charge ahead of a major endorsement rally scheduled for April 29, 2025, at 9:00 am in Ido-Ekiti.
The strategic meeting that set the tone for the upcoming event was convened by Senator Fasuyi alongside Chief Alaba Abejide and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Niyi Adebayo.
The gathering brought together key political stakeholders from the five local governments in Ekiti North, all aligning to reaffirm their commitment to the continuity of Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
According to organisers, the endorsement rally is a collective effort to celebrate Governor Oyebanji’s performance in office and to strengthen support for his second-term ambition.
Speaking on the preparations, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Niyi Adebayo applauded Senator Fasuyi’s proactive leadership and unwavering loyalty to the governor’s progressive vision.
Mr Adebayo described Senator Fasuyi as a unifying figure at the forefront of the mobilisation. He noted that the senator’s role has been instrumental in galvanising support across party lines and communities.
Leaders at the meeting all hailed the federal lawmaker dedication to promoting unity and good governance in Ekiti North.
Present at the strategic meeting were Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo, Special Adviser on Human Capital Development and Allied Matters (Gatekeeper, Ido/Osi); Hon. Ibiloye Felicia, Chairman of Ero LCDA (Gatekeeper, Moba LG); Hon. Folorunso Olabode, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (Gatekeeper, Ilejemeje); Chief Mrs. Kemisola Olaleye, Special Adviser on Gender Empowerment and Women Mobilisation (Gatekeeper, Oye LG); and Barr. Odunayo Ayeni, Special Adviser in the Governor’s Office (Gatekeeper, Ikole LG). They were joined by all Local Government and LCDA Chairmen, APC Party Chairmen, Women Leaders, Youth Leaders, and the Senatorial Youth Leader—each pledging to work tirelessly for the success of the re-election campaign.
The endorsement rally is expected to witness strong participation from various ethnic groups such as the Nupe, Igbo, Ebira, Hausa, and Igede communities. Okada riders, artisans, hunters, youth associations, and grassroots organisations are also mobilising in large numbers, showcasing a broad-based coalition of support for the governor.
