Ekiti News reports that the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has directed Mr. Mamman Ahmadu, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), to resign from his position.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the directive is part of a broader initiative to reorganize the public procurement system, aiming to improve its efficiency and transparency.
The statement also noted that Ahmadu is to hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau until a new Director-General is appointed.
The statement reads, “President Bola Tinubu has directed the resignation of Mr. Mamman Ahmadu from office as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
“This is part of a larger reorganization effort in the public procurement system to reposition the agency for greater efficiency and transparency.
“The Director-General is to hand over to the most senior officer in the Bureau, pending the appointment of a new Director-General.
“The President thanks Mr. Ahmadu for his services and wishes him success in his future endeavours.”
