A 31-year-old man, Segun Taiwo, has been arranged by Ekiti State Police Command before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over an alleged stealing.
Inspector Olasunkanmi Bamikole, Police prosecutor told the court that the defendant and one other at large, committed the offence on May 18 at about 10:00 a.m at Basiri Area in Ado-Ekiti.
Ekiti News reports that Inspector Bamikole alleged that the defendant and one other at large stole one laptop valued at N80,000, belonging to one Abdulrahaman Rashidat.
He said that the offence contravene Section 302 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
Police prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the file and assemble his witnesses.
Mr Akinbobola Akingbade, counsel to the defendant urged the court to grant the defendant bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.
Mr. Saka Afunso, the Chief Magistrate granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in the like sum and adjourned the case till June 20, for hearing.
