Ekiti News reports that the Okada Riders Association in Ekiti State has issued a cautionary notice to its members, advising them to operate in safe areas and conclude their work by 10:00 p.m. each day due to the alarming increases in deadly attacks targeting its members.

During a meeting held at the Fajuyi Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Kunle Asaolu, the chairman of the association in Ekiti State, disclosed that within the past three months (February, March, and April 22), more than 23 members of the Okada Riders Association have fallen victim to fatal assaults perpetrated by unidentified criminal elements operating within the state.

Asaolu, addressing the media in the presence of security operatives, urged members to avoid entering unfamiliar areas.

He said, “If anyone offers you N3,000 or N5,000, do not accept it.” Additionally, he underscored the government’s directive for okada riders to start operations at 6:00 a.m. and finish by 10:00 p.m. He clarified that the association would not be liable for riders apprehended by the police after the specified time.
