Muslim leaders in Ekiti have extended their appreciation to the Dangote Foundation for their generous support during Ramadan.
Ekiti News reports that Alhaji Hammed Bakare, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Ekiti state, oversaw the distribution of the Foundation’s contributions to all 16 local government councils.
He emphasized the significance of these gifts, especially considering the current economic challenges in the country.
Alhaji Bakare acknowledged that despite logistical challenges, the food items, originally slated for distribution before the end of Ramadan, have now been successfully delivered to their designated locations.
The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) highlighted that the initiative has established a precedent for future philanthropic efforts. Alhaji Bakare expressed optimism that this generosity will inspire both Muslim and non-Muslim benefactors to uphold the tradition of giving as prescribed in the Holy Quran.
Additionally, Mr. Tijani Musa, the state secretary of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), and Alhaji Saka Akinola, representing the Organisation of Muslim Unity (OMU), conveyed their gratitude to the foundation.
Alhaja Taibat Oladunni, representing the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) in Ekiti state, expressed appreciation for the fair and inclusive distribution process. She emphasized that this development not only aligns with the vision of the Dangote Foundation but also serves as a call to action for affluent individuals to participate in the noble endeavor of assisting their fellow citizens.
