Ekiti News reports that Prince Babatunde Stephen Adegboyega Alabi, a veteran journalist, lawyer, public relations guru and Law lecturer at Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, has been elected as the new Olosi of Osi-Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

This follows a meticulous and extensive selection process that included traditional divination witnessed by community members, Local and State Government officials and traditional rulers in the council.

The decision was officially pronounced on Sunday by the Afobaje, confirming Prince Alabi as the chosen Oba from the gods of the land.

Prince Alabi, a member of the Arubiojo Ruling House of Osi-Ekiti, boasts a remarkable career, having served as the News and Sports Editor at NTA, Akure, and as the former National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). Additionally, he is a respected attorney and currently teaches law at Elizade University.

The Odofin of Osi-Ekiti, along with the seven-member kingmakers, endorsed the selection made by the ancestral oracles, expressing unanimous agreement on the new Oba’s appointment and extending heartfelt wishes for a successful reign.

The necessary documentation for the selection process has been prepared for approval by the Ekiti State Government, with local officials confirming that the procedure adhered to government guidelines.

The Chairman of Ido-Osi Local Government, Hon Bamidele Adetiloye Omoleye, praised the flawless conduct of the exercise and congratulated the people of Osi-Ekiti while expressing optimism for the Oba-elect’s future leadership.
