...Holds Special Engagement With Stakeholders
The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has reiterated his commitment to ensuring the security challenges around his constituency and other pressing needs are frontally addressed.
Aribasoye who hosted an end of year meeting with some leaders and stakeholders from Ikole constituency 2 in Ado Ekiti emphasized that efforts will be redoubled to ensure the fixing of certain bad portions of roads within the constituency which have become strategic locations for kidnappers and some evil perpetrators.
The speaker who had raised the issue as part of discussions when he visited the police commissioner in the state last month, enjoined the stakeholders to also ensure more vigilance at the local levels.
The engaging and extensive deliberation with the stakeholders touched areas of electricity, water supply, agricultural development and employment for youths among other important matters.
Rt. Hon. Aribasoye gave updates on government efforts on the ongoing 32kva line and the electrification promise point, which would be concluded by the first quarter of 2024 stressing that the project will positively impact major farms around Ekamefa axis.
The Speaker shed some light on the Rural Access Agricultural Marketing Programme , RAAMP and roads to be covered in their work plan as the world bank project warms up to kick off in 2024.
He also discussed with the gathering, prospects of the new agriculture processing zone, Itapaji dam rehabilitation, electricity generation, transmission and distribution as well as protection of electricity assets by the host communities among others.
Rt. Hon. Aribasoye equally gave account of his stewardship to the constituency elders and stakeholders while lauding Governor Biodun Oyebanji for immensely supporting the legislature.
He reeled out some of his gestures to people of the constituency in form of household support, job and appointments facilitation, offsetting of medical bills and other expressions of goodwill.
One of the stakeholders Hon. Segun Ajibulu , expressed concern on security situation in eka mefa axis particularly itapaji – Okeako link road and suggested the siting of police post along the axis as a possible solution.
Another leader, Elder Dele Owolabi, raised concern on Falodun model school querying the slow spate of work done and suggested that Government should expedite action on the project which has prospects for employment and other developmental opportunities.
In another remark, a front line leader in the All Progressives Congress, APC Chief Alaba Abejide who is the Chairman Local Government Service Commission suggested ways to deepen constituency interface, get assembly members to increase such engagements.
He said it was imperative to strengthen ties among the political figures of the All Progressives Congress in the constituency.
The meeting which had over thirty stakeholders in attendance was graced by a member of Ekiti Elders Forum , Ola Adeniyi; Technical Advisor Servicom, Chief Biodun Akin Fasae; Chairman Ajoni LCDA, Prince Michael Ogungbemi; Member, House of Assembly Service Commission, Mr. Bidemi Ipinlaye and SA, P.Z, Kehinde Ajayi and other key players.
