The Ekiti State Government has reassured residents that the recent advisory issued by the State Command of the Police is not intended to scare them, but rather to enhance vigilance and prevent criminal activities that could undermine the prevailing peace in the State.

Ekiti News had reported that the state police command had alerted residents about a planned attack on motorcyclists and passengers by suspected hoodlums, based on credible intelligence uncovering the plot to target people, particularly at night.

Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, the State Commissioner for Information, made this known in a statement on Wednesday, in Ado Ekiti.

The Commissioner emphasized the safety of residents’ lives and property in Ekiti State, affirming that the state remains unwelcome to criminals, with no hiding place for hoodlums.

Rt. Hon. Olatubosun while highlighting proactive measures taken by the State Government to prevent crime, including multi-agency partnerships, intelligence-led policing, problem-solving approaches, and community involvement credited the robust synergy among security agencies for the relative peace and tranquility experienced in the State.

He pledged the Government’s commitment to deploying all available security resources effectively and collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure a secure environment for residents.

Encouraging people to carry on with their lawful activities without fear, the commissioner stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities or movements to the appropriate security authorities.
